Profhilo is an exciting and award-winning new type of injectable that focuses on bio-remodelling. In other words, it encourages the collagen and elastin fibres within your skin to lift and tighten. You might also hear Profhilo referred to as ‘hydralifting’ because it hydrates and lifts the skin.

With just two treatments administered 28 days apart, Profhilo can visibly give your skin a much younger appearance, leaving it dewy, slightly plumper, smoother, firmer and with a healthy glow. Profhilo stimulates the growth of four different types of collagen and elastin to create a more youthful, revitalised look that can last for up to six to eight months.

It can be used on its own or to complement other injectable treatments. Therefore, should you be taking any medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, you must inform us of this. We will explain what you can expect from this treatment and how Profhilo works.

Step 2:
During Your Treatment

A treatment with Profhilo usually involves 10 injections into specific points on your face (five on each side). We use ultra fine needles and most people find the treatment incredibly comfortable.

Step 3:
After The Treatment

You may find you have small bumps at the injection sites for 3 to 4 hours after your treatment where the product has yet to fully disperse. Generally speaking Profhilo is great for minimising the chances of bruises and swelling but every person differs.

Profhilo is suitable for all skin types. 40-50 year olds are indicated for Profhilo, but as we have shown it is also really effective with younger and older patients. The minimum age for Profhilo treatment is 21..

The use of the bap technique identifies the 5 anatomically receptive areas of the face with an absence of large vessels and nerve branches, therefore, minimising the risks while maximising the diffusion of the product in the malar and submalar areas. 0.2ml of Profhilo is then injected at the superficial subcutaneous layer.

As with any injectable there are minor risks including bruising and swelling, as well as infection, allergic reaction, vascular compromise and nerve damage; although IBSA claims these are rare.

After four weeks, patients reported having improvement in lines and tightness of their skin. After eight weeks there was a definite lifting and tightening in the skin.
