Client safety is the most important aspect of any treatment, and therefore every possible situation and outcome is taken into consideration. Our team wants everyone to feel young and beautiful, but not at the expense of their health. Therefore, should you be taking any medication, have experienced issues with botulinum toxin before, are pregnant or breastfeeding, you must inform us of this. Depending on your situation, we will recommend alternate treatments that will still give you outstanding results.

Step 2:
During Your Treatment

If you decide that anti-wrinkle injections are right for you, we will disinfect your skin for hygiene purposes. Our highly experienced aesthetic practitioner will then use her specially-developed technique to administer a controlled amount of anti-wrinkle injection into the treatment area using a small needle. This amount will have been agreed with you beforehand, and we’ll make recommendations based on the results that you are trying to achieve. Your session will take no longer than 15 minutes, with results noticeable within 2 weeks.

This treatment works by blocking the release of the neurotransmitters that are associated with pain, meaning that you no longer have to experience the severe pain of a migraine

Some people are self-conscious about the amount of tooth and gum that is revealed when they smile. Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to minimise this by relaxing the muscle above the upper lip, thereby preventing it from lifting as high.

As with any medicine, botox injections may cause side effects for some patients. Side effects usually occur within the first few days of injection and are temporary. The most common side effects are headaches, drooping of the eyelids, skin redness, local muscle weakness and facial pain.

Be certain to adhere to the following post-treatment instructions:

  • Clean – Use a gentle cleanser and warm (not hot!) water only to cleanse the face for around 72 hours after treatment and gently dry the treated skin by patting the skin with a soft towel, instead of rubbing the skin. Always make sure that your hands are clean when touching the treated area.
  • Heal – Antioxidant serums are recommended post-treatment as they can help to heal the treatment area, by smoothing the skin and reducing irritation.
  • Hydrate – Following your treatment, your skin may feel drier than normal. Hyaluronic Acid is an ideal ingredient to hydrate, balance and restore the skin.
  • Makeup – It is recommended that makeup should not be applied for 24 hours after the procedure. Do not apply any makeup with a makeup brush, especially if it is not clean.

To ensure the proper healing environment, be certain to observe the following:

  • For at least three days post-treatment = do NOT use any products containing Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acids, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula) or anything other ‘active’ skincare.
  • Avoid intentional and direct sunlight for 24 hours. Do not use tanning beds.
  • Do not go swimming for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
  • No exercising or strenuous activity for the first 24 hours post-treatment.
  • No excessive alcohol consumption on the day of the treatment.
  • Do not lie face down following the treatment.
  • Do not use ibuprofen following the treatment for 2 weeks.

Botox is designed to smooth out wrinkles in the forehead and around the eyes, and therefore does not affect your facial expression. You can still smile and laugh with ease.
